If Thumbelina lived in a sun-drenched utopia, this would probably be her dream house.

If Thumbelina lived in a sun-drenched utopia, this would probably be her dream house.

Gold Coast artist Anna Carey crafts miniature houses and motels inspired by her time growing up on the colour-sapped beaches of Queensland. The crumbling facades of her models allude to the sense of displacement mixed with hopeful optimism that often imbues cities like Los Angeles and Las Vegas.

This body of work is being displayed at Arteral Gallery in Sydney until September 29th, or you can visit more of her little world online here.
