Next time you’re ambling down the street on a blustery day, pay attention to the fallen foliage around you – it might just be the thing to spark a creative flame. Take Brooklyn-based lady Danielle Kroll, for instance: her houseplant dropped a wilting leaf on the floor, and instead of sweeping it up thoughtlessly, she turned it in a drawing of a whale. That doodle then became this rather excellent Happy Whale Bud Vase, which makes us feel about as tickled as it looks, and it’s all because she didn’t simply brush the leaf away.
