5 workwear brands to spy if you don't work in an office

Work hard, play hard.

From construction sites to rolling hills, if you’re a workwear-wearer, you’re going to want some duds that can keep up with what you’re doing. We’ve had a look around and found a selection of workwear brands that actually hold up to their name – and will hold you up all the while. Peruse our picks below.

GIJARU Gijaru Workgear is more than just a workwear brand. Run by Jamee Carey – a proud Gija and Jaru man from Warmun Country near Halls Creek in the East Kimberley – Gijaru is on a mission to provide culturally empowering and environmentally responsible gear. Their range includes all the handy bits you’ll need throughout your work day, like nifty water bottles and versatile duffel bags.

SHE WEAR She Wear takes their workwear very seriously. And they would, considering that the brand first began after their founder was met with a nail in her foot on a building site. Now, they specialize in a variety of work shoes and safety boots – as well as a bucketload of other garms for all kinds of work sites – all designed with a femme body in mind. Gone are the days of ill-fitting fleece zips that don’t account for bigger chests.

GREEN HIP Australian workwear brand Green Hip makes durable duds for folks that like to get their hands dirty. Turns out, Green Hip likes to get their hands dirty too – the brand’s partnership with local Landcare groups and TreeProject has seen them plant 45,000 seedlings so far in their efforts for a greener future. Green Hip’s attitude is the kind that falls into the category of ‘get stuff done’, and their workwear is clear proof.

EVE WORKWEAR eve workwear founders Laura and Juanita know what it’s like to be women in industries where there aren’t normally many. They especially know how hard it can be to find workwear that fits right. Starting from inside out, eve workwear is working to make femmes feel more comfortable in workwear that hasn’t historically been designed for their bodies. eve workwear’s range includes the must-have bits, like high-visibility layers and painter's whites, as well as the lovely odd overall.

GRAMICCI This swanky label has aced the balance of practicality and style. While you can expect all the usual workwear threads – like cargo pants and nylon anoraks – Gramicci also have a fair few bits that will take you from the so-called office (whatever your ‘office’ may be) to the streets. Designed with movement in mind, these garms are a good pick if you’re looking to swap your old threads for some swish ones.
