Costume designers. They’re an incredible lot, making the acting folk we gaze at on screen look extra-exquisite, or ghoulish, or curmudgeonly… whatever the story requires, really. And one of the greatest costume designers of all time is Edith Head, a lady who nabbed eight Academy Awards over the course her career. She dressed the likes of Audrey Hepburn, Shirley Temple and Veronica Lake, and now, thanks to the good folk at the Bendigo Art Gallery in Victoria, the very duds she designed are now on show.
Pop past the gallery any time from now till Sunday January 21st to visit The Costume Designer: Edith Head and Hollywood, an Australian exclusive exhibition, and cop a close-up squiz at over 70 snazzy Hollywood costumes that date from the ’30s to the ’60s. Feeling a tad lucky? Then maybe you should punch in your info to go in the running to score tickets for you and a mate to attend the exhibition – we’ve got five double passes up for grabs.
