Tell us about your brand. Stocksy United is home to a highly curated collection of royalty-free stock photography and video footage that is beautiful, distinctive, and highly usable. We’re also a cooperative! (Think more artist respect and support, less patchouli.) We believe in creative integrity, fair profit sharing and co-ownership, with every voice being heard.
What do you do? We represent almost 1000 photographers and videographers in about 65 different countries around the world to license and distribute their photos and videos to designers, advertisers, marketers, and anyone looking to use beautiful visuals in their work.
Why did you want to be involved with the frankie Good Stuff awards? First off, we love frankie! We’re also passionate about creatives and art in all forms, and to be part of something oozing with so much creative passion is really an honour.
What makes you well suited to sponsor the photography category? It’s the core of our business and something we live and breathe every day. We’re thrilled to connect with frankie’s photography community. In fact, last year we invited Bri Hammond, winner of the photography category, to our cooperative after seeing her amazing entry.
Is there something you’re hoping to see in the entries for that category? The wonderful thing about photography is being able to see through someone else’s eyes – a perspective or interpretation that evokes an emotion. We can’t wait to see the beauty and art that this year’s entrants submit.
If you could create an entry of your own, what would it be? You’d probably end up seeing a shot of my son that I’m particularly proud of, and it’d probably be on 120 film – my new favourite medium for artistic experimentation.
