crafty little monkeys
I’m going to visit some friends in the States next month, which means a) I have zero cash to spend on fun weekend activities, and b) I was in need of some cool thank-you presents to dole out after staying on people’s couches and spare beds. So here’s what I whipped up over Saturday and Sunday! The pattern is from a book called Softies, which I’ve been keen to get into ever since my lovely friend Leah gave it to me for Christmas. I was so pleased, because for once my creation actually ended up looking like the one in the book! There’s lots of leftover material and stuffing too, so I might throw a few more together for Meet Me at Mike’s Softies for Mirabel drive. Um, and Leah should get one too.

Jodie Nixon owns a sweet retail shop and studio in Albury called Little Gooseberry. She lives by the philosophy ‘to reduce and reinvent’, which is suitable considering her creations. She uses vintage treasures to make soft toys, cards, brooches and cushions. The new fox on the block toy is her latest creation and is named after yours truly. She has sent us two 'frankie foxes' for two lucky ducks. To enter simply send an email

This makes absolutely no sense, but this creepy/cute crochet kitty is making us think of those weird ghost twins in The Shining. Double-headed? Check. Horrifying but also nattily dressed? Check. Possibly seeking the blood of all warm-blooded creatures and in league with Satan? We’ll let you make up your own mind. See more here.
