BOHEMIAN LIKE YOU

I’ve been travelling between Brisbane and Melbourne a lot recently, and everywhere I go it seems people want to have the same conversation: what’s happening to Fitzroy/ Collingwood/ Fortitude Valley/ West End? With lovely, grungy Fitzroy apparently the new target for multi-storey apartment developers and the Valley strangely overrun by chain stores and rum and coke drinkers, it’s maybe time to reflect on the importance of having a little slice of city living that Starbucks can’t reach – a home for artists and activists and people who want to do things outside the norm.
