I’m in a bit of a blogging frenzy today but you just can’t pass up feel good gold. Feel free to clap your hands in delight just as I did.

In the spirit of doing fun and delightful things in public places (see you tube clip below), we are here to tell you it’s International Pillowfight Day on Saturday April 4th. This means you, yes you must hit someone with a pillow at some stage on this unforgettable day, preferably in a public place and with lots of people you don’t know. Start fluffing troops. Rules of engagement here! 

My twin musical obsessions at the moment are both ukulele-based, and both decidedly kick arse, so I wanted to share. The first is Dent May and his Magnificent Ukulele, a strummer from Mississippi with a nice line in Jens-Lekman-meets-The-Cardigans style twee pop tunes and (as you’ll see if you click the video clip below) a possible future career as a Spike Jonze lookalike. Whatever his background, though, I cannot stop listening to his debut album The Good Feeling Music of Dent May and His Magnificent Ukulele. So cute! So wry! So good feeling!

Number two is The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain. I’ve been on a bit of a Youtubing spree to check out their videos and they cover a lot of great songs (Smells Like Teen Spirit, Life on Mars, the theme tune from Shaft to name just a few) with jazz-style vocals and, of course, masses upon masses of little plinky-plonky ukuleles. Why does this work? Who knows – but it does. Click the link below to see them do their stuff covering Kate Bush’s Wuthering Heights. 

Monday and Mr Bird’s adventures go together like freckles and chocolate.  Go on, hop inside a giant teacup and let’s all pretend we’re at Disneyland. A lovely little escape from the beginning of the week.

28-year-old Justin lives with his 78-year-old father. His twitter account lists all the stuff his dad says. Funny shit. (PS I couldn’t find a picture of Justin’s dad, so I had to use a picture of my dad instead. Hope you don't mind. Hi Dad).

How are these vintage photos of women in war. They even managed to take time out for a little knitting. Awesome.

Does tea taste better in bird-shaped tea bags? No idea, but it looks super fun.

Talk about brekky on the run. The London Undercover range by British designer Jamie Milestone serves up a delicious dish of British culture. Made from recycled products, Jamie aims to make the humble umbrella a fashion accessory.
