We're looking for volunteers to help out on Tuesday, October 13th at our Semi Permanent Booth in Perth. Job description includes lifting boxes, helping set up our pretty booth so people come and buy our brand new photo album, idle chatting, toilet breaks and smiling a lot. Alongside me, you'll be representing team frankie, so come with your best manners and a nice, comfy get-up. You might even get a little thank-you gift at the end. C'mon email me! A quick chat with photographer Laina Briedis one of the stars who contributed to our brand new photo album. Describe the first photo you took. It was with an old polaroid spectra. I think it was a picture of one or both of my parents. Describe the last photo you took. A few days ago I went to go see a play with my grandpa at this cute little theatre. It was surrounded by the sweetest, most lovely gardens and beautiful spruce trees. After the show was over my grandfather and I walked through the garden and I took a picture of him there. Why do you like taking photos? Goodness, there are so many reasons! Photography provides me with a magical way to preserve past feelings and memories in something infinite, concrete and beautiful. It’s a wonderful means of expressing myself. How did you learn to take photos? Lots and lots of experimentation! I always feel so satisfied when I figure out how to do something on my own and I find knowledge sticks with me better that way. I've also learned a lot from various photographers I've come into contact with over the years, the books I've read, and the classes I've been lucky enough to have taken.
