OK – I’ve been inspired to follow Lara’s lead and show off a bit of expert eBaying
myself. I’ve become slightly obsessed with all the vintage quilts on the American
eBay site, and have been bidding on them for ages, only to be pipped at the post
by evil people who use those gazumping programmes that come in at the last second
and up the bid. (You wouldn’t believe how cutthroat America quilt buyers are –
friggin ruthless.) So, I was extra excited when, after 10 months of browsing and
bidding and getting frustrated, all my online quilt lust paid off with this lovely
antique quilt top. I know it’s sad, but I really feel like patting myself on the back.

I love stumbling across random coolness on the interweb, and I think my personal prize for radness this month has to go to PhotoShowerCurtain.com. It’s a site that does exactly what it says on the box: send them your digital images and they will make a personalised shower curtain showing off your pretty pictures. Plus they are happy to ship to Australia. Just think of the possibilities: favourite landscapes, arty shots, that picture of your boyfriend posed to look like he’s picking the Statue of Liberty’s nose ... Definitely one of those ‘why didn’t anyone think of this first?’ type ideas. |

Get spick and span with an environmental plan! B_E_E home cleaning products have shrewdly and consciously created Beauty Engineered for Ever, a great little mishmash of nature, science and beauty. Creating Australian eco-warrior, design-savvy products, it’s no wonder awards have been sparkling B_E_E’s way. Quirky? Tick. Eco-friendly? Tick. Hot packaging? Tick. Yay – all the dirty work has been done for us. |

Here’s something to love without irony. Save the Pink Bathrooms does exactly what it says on the label, agitating for the preservation of vintage pink bathrooms everywhere. There’s even a tip sheet on renovation and colour matching. Drool, drool. |

Not many people know this, but sleeping is an art. And with this pillow blanket from Joon&Jung, it could be a performance art as well. You can sleep on it, under it, snuggle inside, probably build a fort out of it. Yes indeedy, this is going on the wish list. |

Everyone has a mum, nanna or aunt who collected those blue and white Delftware plates, right? (Why so many Dutch plates with pictures of Japanese pagodas? But maybe that’s a conversation for another time.) Anyway, Netherlands artist Maxime Ansiau has updated the pottery her country’s famous for, with a series of conjoined plates depicting either very tall or very wide buildings. We think they’re kind of cool. |

Have a squiz at this fairytale-icious Princess & the Pea Bed from 3 Peas in a Pod. Yes, it’s a wee bit on the exxy side, but we think that with the right fabrics and some cut foam or bedrolls, it’s totally DIY-able. (On a side note: did anyone else think it was a bit uncool to suggest that princesses were so delicate they could detect a pea through layers of comfy bedding? Seems like a weird super power. But it still makes for a cute bed.) |

We will keep this short and sweet. We love tea towels and we love illustrator Nicola Rowlands. See what happens here when these two mix. Aren't they gorgeous? They're simply too pretty for the pots. |

For the cat who has everything, there’s always this. A mid-century modern cat litter box. Um, wow. |

Ever seen an aircraft hanger converted into a home? Neither have we. Scottish graphic designer Glenn Garriock took renovating to a mind-bending new level when they took one of the 16 hangers salvaged from the British Army and turned it into a cosy abode. Ridiculously inspiring stuff. (Thanks to Design Sponge) |
