BECI BECI BECI

Beci Orpin, mother of real kiddies and the lovely Princess Tina label – and perennial artsy heroine of frankie – is having a very special solo exhibition. Called Outside, Over There, the show balances between folkish nightmare, with roaming foxes, mysterious silhouettes and dancing mushrooms, and the cute animal characters, paper-cuts and craft of Beci's past. Fairytale narratives, animals galore and a big nod to craft: this exhibition will warm the cockles of your nostalgic heart and perhaps give you a little nightmarish chill too. Outside, Over There opens tonight in Melbourne then runs from August 23rd to September 14th at the Outre Gallery, 249-251 Elizabeth Street, Melbourne. But Sydneysiders are in for a treat too – your Beci Fest 2008 opens a week later on August 29th at Outre Gallery, 13A Burton Street, Darlinghurst.
