We’re excited that Jacqueline Bradley is showcasing her lovely works with Never a Cross Word, her first solo exhibition. Jacqueline uses household objects and building materials including windows, doors, floorboards and wallpaper in conjunction with fabricated elements to create objects that appear familiar yet function in unbelievable ways; windows breathe like lungs and walls fold into corners. Sound interesting? Her sculptural and installed works will show at the ANCA gallery Canberra from Wednesday the 20th of May to Sunday the 31st. Jacqueline will also give an artists talk at 2pm on Saturday the 23rd May. |

llustrators Kelly Thompson and Kelly Smith are banding together to show off their latest works. The show opens May 27th at the Per Square Metre Gallery in Collingwood, and runs till May 30th. |

Head to Hibernian House, 102/342 Elizabeth Street, Surry Hills on May 30 from 6pm. |

The very nice people behind Two Thousand will be hosting a “Generation Slashie” chat for Creative Sydney this Friday night, May 29th at 6pm at the The Museum of Contemporary Art. These days people are expected to be masters of everything and required to write, shoot and design with sufficient flair. This Friday’s event will discuss this phenomenon. What’s more Two Thousand will be producing a mini-mag ON THE NIGHT. The mag will showcase the event presenters, including insight into what drives them, and the logistics of being in five places at once. And if you’re there, you might just get your mug in print too. |

It's that time of year again for The Salvo's Red Shield Appeal. Raising money for those Australians less fortunate than ourselves, The Salvation Army is going to be door knocking nation-wide this weekend. So if they rat-a-tat on your front door, please give them your time (and maybe a cup of tea). Of course not everybody's door is that easy to rap upon, so you can also donate online, call 13SALVOS or return the envelope that you may find sitting in your letterbox. Think of it like trick-or-treat for responsible grownups! Photo from here. |
