tales from the cold ghost
We’re chuffed to be helping out the lovely folk at tinygold (a not-for-profit artist-run initiative based on the Gold Coast), who are holding their annual Tales from the Cold Ghost from August 1st till the 22nd. The exhibition’s aim is to help get exposure for all QLD’s talented local artists. This year, artists are creating with all sorts of materialsincluding cane toad leather (Linelle Stepto) dishwasher sponges (Carly Kotynski) and moulded wax (Simone Eisler). As well as the exhibition, the ladies behind the event are organizing an arts-networking day, an artist talk and a fashion parade during the exhibition period. The program is chockas with stuff for all creative types, so if you’re in town head over to tinygold for some lovely arty inspiration.
We’re proud to be supporting Leeloo’s second birthday celebrations. But forget the fairy bread, because this isn’t just any old shindig. Instead, to celebrate, Leeloo are throwing an exhibition called Once Upon which will showcase the work of 38 artists. Each artist has been given a fairy tale to interpret and will create four original artworks to exhibit. Artists include frankie calendar artists Catherine Campbell and Sarah McNeil plus Courtney Brims, Bec Winnel, Ali J and a host of other talented peeps. Opening night is this Thursday November 19 at aMBUSH gallery from 6-9pm. Artworks will be available for sale and from Friday to Sunday there will also be a Leeloo pop up store, so pack your pennies and come get lost in a fairy tale. Lovely wine supplied by Catalina Sounds.
