There's nothing like strutting about town wearing a dress you just hand-stitched yourself and your brand new beehive do.
Aside from what we like to call the 'chuff-factor' of knowing that the garments you're wearing were made by yours truly, anything that you make yourself using your own measurements is bound to fit like a proverbial glove. But for those who aren't the most nimble with a sewing machine, this course by Thread Den in Melbourne could be right up your alley.
Over three Thursday nights in September (the 13th, 20th and 27th), you'll make your own vintage-inspired dress from scratch. Then on Friday the 28th, you can attend one of their old-school hair and makeup classes in your new frock, learn how to doll yourself up '50s-style, and then head out into the night.
