wanna sit on my handlebars?

Ok, so we all know that bikes are a great way to get around town (or country or beach or desert). They are good for the planet, they keep you fit, they provide a great mode of transport for those who want to start their own BMX crew and, lets face it, some of them look pretty god damn cool. Well, if you're sick of riding around on your brother's old mountain bike, or your handlebars are corroded with rust, or your seat ceases to exist, we reckon you should check out Papillionaire. This is a site where you can customise your bike to order. Choose colour, style, detailing and more! The price might be a little steeper than something your found on the side of the road, but hey, it might just be worth it.

What’s your favourite Penguin Book? The ‘dignified yet flippant’ Penguin is celebrating 75 years of producing paperbacks with the notion of making literature accessible to all. To celebrate, they have released an additional 75 new Popular Penguin paperbacks which you can get your mitts on for a measly $9.95 each! Head over here for the full range and test your pop Penguin knowledge against your mates with the Penguin Party game on their facebook page. What a delightful distraction.

Huzzah, hurrah and hip hip hooray – issue 37 of frankie is out today! Inside we chat to the happiest worker-minions in the world from the offices of Etsy, Sub Pop and Vivienne Westwood, squeal with glee at pretty vintage paper dolls and learn how to grow our own miniature gardens. There’s swoony furniture design, lovely togs for summer days (they’re coming, people), a little heart-to-heart with Deb Mailman, a tribute to our favourite nerds on film, musings on the modern angst of the IKEA visit and an expert guide to old-fashioned lollies.

We've been on a bit of an eco-rampage here at the frankie offices and have just heard news about a pretty sweet offer from Pureau water. The people at Pureau are all about eco-awareness and phasing out plastic bottles, so for the first 50 frankie readers who buy a cask of water from these guys will get a slick reusable water bottle valued $23.95. Click here to buy.

Well, us lucky frankie ladies received a joyous box full of stationary goodies a little while ago from the radical peeps at Lox + Savvy. We love their labels and stickers and bright papers and notebooks and their environmental awareness, too! It has brightened up our desks no-end.

On August 16 the RSPCA are holding their annual cupcake day fundraiser to get together some much needed cash so they can keep doing all the great work we know them for. You can get involved by registering as a cupcake cook or even get into training as a cupcake eater and host your own cupcake party. What could be better than baking yummy treats and helping out our four-legged friends... Cute pic from here.
